Scientific activity of the Faculty
The Faculty of Agrobiotechnical Sciences Osijek is a recognizable scientific research and educational institution with regard to numerous successfully implemented scientific research projects, not only in the field of biotechnical sciences, but increasingly emphasizing its interdisciplinary nature. Significant scientific journalism resulted from the results of realized projects and cooperation with other domestic and foreign scientific research institutions and cooperation with the economy. It should also be emphasized the participation of Faculty employees in scientific centers of excellence and significant engagement in the organization of domestic and international scientific conferences, consultations, symposia and other similar activities.
The fundamental goal of the Faculty is to continuously strengthen the quality of scientific research activity while improving and achieving recognition in the Faculty's areas of activity and developing a multidisciplinary research environment with effective use of research capacities, which is particularly emphasized in the Faculty's Development Strategy for the period 2018/2019 – 2022/2023 and in the Strategic Program of Scientific Research for the period 2019-2023. The faculty will encourage the intensification of scientific and teaching activities on the international level with the development of a system of continuous support for the development of project proposals and participation in international projects based on specific strategic goals and in accordance with the European framework program for research and innovation.
In addition, the continuous increase in international visibility and recognition, which is emphasized by the increase in scientific journalism through an increasing number of published works in prestigious scientific journals with significant citations, also demonstrates the quality of the Faculty's scientists. Employees of the Faculty carry out numerous cooperation with international scientific institutions through participation in international scientific research projects, participation in the organization and presentation of works at international scientific symposia, memberships in editorial boards of scientific journals, and received awards and recognitions, which emphasize their significant scientific contribution. It is also stated in accordance with the specific strategic goals of the Faculty aimed at smart, inclusive and sustainable growth, which are defined by the Smart Specialization Strategy of the Republic of Croatia and the European Research and Innovation Framework Program.
